European Fan Palm

(Chamaerops humilis) (aka Meditteranean Fan Palm) - Bright green fans with short, thin reddish brown trunks make this one of the most desirable palms available. Well known for its ability to produce new sprouts (suckering) forming clups of trunks for a very tropical - jungle look. Very cold hardy and drought tolerant requiring little water. These plants can thrive on conditions of neglect and naturalize readily. They also make excellent tub, planter and container specimens. Height and spread can be controlled by the size of its container and grooming. Contrast nicely in any landscape and also good in office and commercial settings.
